Traveling to an amusement park, and experiencing the different rides that are there, might be very different if you go to a local fairground. Some people believe that the rides are all the same, but this is not true at all. There are going to be significant differences when you go to each one of these. You will notice it while you are there, especially if you go to one and then the other within the span of a day or two. Here are some of the primary differences between amusement park rides and fairground rides that you should be aware of before you decide on which one to visit.
The Size Of The Rides
The first difference is the size of the rides that are going to be at each one. At an amusement park like Disneyland or Six Flags, they are going to be exceptionally large. Of course, they are also going to have rides that are designed for children which will be much smaller. Overall, however, it is the size of the rides that is going to designate an amusement park from fairgrounds (juegos mecanicos de feria).
The Number Of Rides Available
The second reason that these are different is because of the number of rides that are there. At a large amusement park that attracts millions of people every year, you are going to have more of them available. If they did not, people would not want to come back because of how long it would take them to just go on a few rides every day.
The Duration Of The Rides
The duration of the rides is the third reason that these are different. At a fairgrounds, you are going to be limited to about three minutes each. If you go to a larger amusement park, they might take up to four minutes or longer. Part of the reason has to do with more people are able to go on the amusement park rides because of their size and the way they are designed. Either way, they are always going to be longer at an amusement park than the local fair when it comes to town.
Fairground Rides Are Not Permanent
Finally, amusement parks are typically permanent locations. There are amusement parks worldwide that have been in the same locations for decades. They are typically open every day of the week. However, fairgrounds are designated for carnivals and shows that are coming into town for about a week, and then they will move on to another destination.
These are the primary differences between amusement park rides and fairground rides. As you can see, they are very different. You will also notice that fairground rides are very unique in and of themselves, ones that you may not see at a local amusement park. With the exception of the carousel, Ferris wheel, and a couple other rides (otros), they are not going to have any crossovers.
